Gurl is it hard to work a day job and try to build a hustle on the side. I have found myself feeling incredibly exhausted, extremely busy and putting on a couple pounds because I sit….a lot. For some reason, this month I felt especially ready to do something about it. My friend Kovie Biakolo tells me that “March is the new January” after all, because we are trying to get ready for swimsuit season. But in trying to figure out what to do differently to get moving, I knew I needed a little help.
I love to walk, especially outside on sunny days, but pedometers in the past have done nothing to make me want to get up and walk more. I have been hearing about the Fitbit device for awhile, how it’s like a “pedometer on steroids” so I decided to give it a try. Why not? I had 30 days to return it if I did not like it. So I purchased and it arrived yesterday and I immediately fell in love.
I got the plum-colored one, because you know, I like purple and pink. And it’s so tiny. It actually looks like a bluetooth earpiece. I’ve only used it for a day but I realized how many steps I walk in a given day Yesterday I walked 5,110 steps. I consider that impressive but per the Fitbit tracker, I should shoot for 10,000 steps per day. Take a look at my Fitbit Dashboard below.
Plus you can wear the device while you sleep and it will track how long you sleep and how many times you wake up at night. I discovered that I woke up 3 times last night.
